This privacy policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit pietz-ventures.com. Personal data is information that can be linked to a person, such as an IP address or email address.

2. Providing the website
We use Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg. Website files are stored in Amazon S3 in the Frankfurt region. Amazon CloudFront delivers them through a worldwide network.
Delivery involves processing, in particular, the IP address, requested address, access time and technical browser and connection information. This is necessary to provide the website and maintain its security. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of the website.
No CloudFront or S3 access logs that we can analyse are enabled for this website. AWS may process technical data to operate and secure its services. CloudFront may also process data outside the EU. AWS data protection agreements apply to processing on our behalf, including the specified safeguards for international transfers.

3. Browser appearance
When you select Light, Dark or Black, we store this setting under ‘p-ventures-theme’ in your browser’s Local Storage. The setting is not sent to us. It remains until you delete the website’s data in your browser. Storage serves only your chosen appearance (Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG).
Fonts, images and videos are loaded from this website. No external font providers or embedded social media services are contacted when a page loads.
4. Project enquiries and email
When you submit the project form, you send your name, email address, company or website and message directly to us. The details are processed through a form endpoint in the AWS Frankfurt region and delivered by email to our studio Gmail inbox. We use Amazon Web Services for sending; Google processes the message for receipt, storage and replies through Gmail. Form enquiries do not require IONOS email forwarding. If you instead write to info@pietz-ventures.com, your email is forwarded through IONOS to our Gmail inbox.
When you contact us, we process your contact details and message to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual enquiries and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for other correspondence. Information about Google’s data processing is available in the Google privacy policy. Further information is available in the AWS privacy notice and the IONOS privacy notice.
We retain correspondence for as long as needed to handle it. We then delete it unless statutory retention requirements or necessary evidence prevent deletion. Providing data is voluntary; without a way to contact you, we cannot answer your enquiry.
5. Optional statistics with Google Analytics
If you consent in the cookie panel, we use Google Analytics 4 from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. We use it to analyse page views, case study visits, scrolling, email clicks, project enquiry starts and confirmed form submissions. Charts in our website examples continue to show fictional data.
Analytics processes information including a cookie-assigned browser identifier, visited pages, timestamps, technical browser and device details, approximate location and the source of a visit. The IP address is processed for the connection and to derive location; Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not store individual IP addresses. We do not pass names, email addresses or form content to Analytics. URL query parameters and fragments are not passed to Analytics; for referring websites, we send only the domain.
The legal bases are your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. Before consent and after refusal, we do not load a Google Analytics tag or send consent-free measurement signals to Google. Advertising personalisation and Google Signals are disabled for our website. The website and contact form can be used without analytics.
Google may also process data in the USA. Information about processing on our behalf and safeguards for international transfers is available in the Google data processing terms and the standard contractual clauses referred to there. Further details are provided in the Google privacy notices and the information on data processing in the EU.
The ‘_ga’ and ‘_ga_GBG9FWZTGL’ Analytics cookies are limited to no more than 180 days. User- and event-level detail data in Analytics is retained for two months. Aggregated reports are not subject to this period. Your choice, timestamp and version number are stored under ‘pv-consent-v1’ in Local Storage for 180 days; they are not sent to us as a visitor event. This storage is necessary to honour your selection (Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG).
You may withdraw consent at any time for the future through ‘Cookie settings’ at the bottom of the page. We then stop ongoing Analytics collection and remove this website’s Analytics cookies. Withdrawal does not affect processing that has already occurred. Further details: Cookie information.
External links and examples
Project pages may link to external websites, shops, maps or appointment services. When you follow a link, the respective provider’s privacy policy applies. The interactive case studies do not place orders or book appointments. Test entries in case studies are not sent to Analytics.
6. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have the right to access your personal data, request rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent for the future.
You may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. To exercise your rights, send a message to the email address above.
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly where you live or work. The responsible authority in Berlin is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
7. Encryption and changes
The website is transmitted using HTTPS encryption. We update these notices when the services used or processing activities change.

If local storage is unavailable, the choice is retained for the current tab or through the language URL. This setting is not separately transmitted to us.
